Fort Worth Woman Killed By Truck Driver Fleeing Police

An off-duty Fort Worth police officer told me Friday night about a horrible chain of events that had just happened nearby.

An 18 wheeler driver from Oregon had tried to pass a counterfeit $100.00 bill on the west side and got into a fight with the store owner. A Fort Worth police officer on the premises was nearly run over trying to stop the trucker from getting away.

The driver then tore off in his cab after nearly running over the officer, and hitting a parked vehicle, The giant cab sped through the roads and even alleys in the Como neighborhood before crashing into a van driving north on Hulen.

The cab driver jumped out, ran away, and was later found hiding face down in an unlocked garage near Arlington Heights High School.

Unfortunately Ming-Yueh Bixler, 58, of Haltom City was killed and her husband, Dr. Glenn Bixler, 61, who works at Texas Rehabilitation Hospital, was seriously injured. A third passenger was hurt but not badly.

The cab driver faces charges of intoxication manslaughter and assault. I hope he gets a long sentence in jail and never drives again.

If you or someone you know has been injured in a collision, please contact me. I’ll get you the money you deserve.
