TCU QB DWI Saga

Coach Gary Patterson just announced that Casey Pachall has left TCU to seek inpatient treatment at a drug and alcohol facility. What a shame.

Pachall, 21, ran over a curb up the hill on University Drive and was arrested for DWI by a FWPD officer last Thursday morning. His BAC was .17. The legal limit is .08.

Pachall was suspended indefinitely and TCU proceeded to lose Saturday to underdog Iowa State 37-23.

As an adopted Frog who works out in its Recreation Center and runs on its track, I follow TCU sports avidly. The team will play Baylor this Saturday in Waco, Tech here in Fort Worth, Oklahoma State and West Virginia on the road, Kansas State at home, UT in Austin, then ends its first year in the Big 12 at home against OU. I hope it doesn’t lose the momentum it has gained in the last few years.

But Pachall had failed a drug test in February — announced in August — and avoided punishment after admitting to using marijuana, cocaine and Ecstasy in the bust of the football team.

Driving while intoxicated — even if you are a star quarterback — is a serious criminal offense that can injure or even kill motorists. I hate drunk drivers, as go after them with a vengeance. If you have been in a car or truck accident here in North Texas, please contact me by phone or email. I will fight to get you the money you deserve.
