DWI Baseball Star Settles Death Case

Former New York Yankee Jim Leyritz recently settled the wrongful death suit filed against him by the family of the women he killed in 2007. Leyritz was driving drunk and was charged with DUI manslaughter. Leyritz settled the wrongful death claim for his policy limits of $250,000.

It is despicable to see professional athletes that should be role models for our children make such poor decisions. And yet they continue to break the law. There is no excuse for drinking and driving. Leyritz has not yet gone to trial for the criminal charges of DWI manslaughter. I hope the judge does not let him off easy because he’s a celebrity.
I recently represented a client who was hit by a drunk driver on New Years Eve. My client was injured and the insurance company originally only offered her $500 for her damages. Once she hired me, I was able to make the insurance company its policyholder’s full insurance limits of $25,000.00.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a drunk driving wreck, give me a call. I have been representing drunk driving victims for over 30 years.
