Berenson Injury Law has been working harder than ever during the pandemic to fight for our clients. We are upset that economic times are worse than ever for many people. We also know that at the same time, insurance companies are increasingly denying, minimizing, and delaying payment for the damages their bad drivers cause to innocent motorists.

But our personal injury law firm specializes in vehicle crashes and knows how to get the job done. Mr. Berenson is routinely working 10 – 12 hours a day and on weekends. Hard work pays off!

Here are the results of 8 cases we have successfully resolved — just in the last 8 days:

$202,500 (the limits of three insurance policies) – to a woman driving to work in Fort Worth who fractured her wrist and had several surgeries. Her medical bills were paid by her health insurance at a much lower rate. We are fighting to get its subrogation lien reduced. Her estimated net recovery is $85,000.

$180,000 – to two women and their three children who were in a low-impact collision caused by an 18-wheeler last summer in Fort Worth. Injuries to their necks and backs were fairly minor; an infant had no injuries. The net recovery, after we forced their auto liability company to waive its right to be repaid for the Medical Payments it paid out, was $120,000.

$167,500 (the limits of two policies) – to a husband and wife driving in North Richland Hills two years ago when a woman in a car hit their SUV. He had to have cervical surgery and she had to have a hernia repaired. We made all available insurance companies pay the maximum amount available. They had health insurance which paid their medical bills so they netted $108,100.

$100,000 (the limits of two policies) – to the mother of a man who tragically died as he was riding his motorcycle and was hit by a drunk driver last month. The net recovery is $73,750.

$50,000 (the policy limit except for $10,000 paid to two other injured people) – to a father, mother, and their son with neck and back injuries after a multi-vehicle collision in Granbury. We are now fighting their insurance company for additional money. Their net recovery to date is $21,000.

$30,000 (the policy limit) – to a woman hit by a driver who failed to yield the right of way in Fort Worth with neck and back injuries. This was not easy since the other driver had a policy with a substandard insurance company. She has received $14,600 and there will be additional money paid from an underinsured motorist policy.

$30,000 (the policy limit) – to a woman in Keller with multiple injuries who will net approximately $10,000.

$28,000 – to a man near Granbury with back problems who will receive $13,300.

These numbers show how much our clients receive after payment of medical bills, attorney’s fees, and records charges.

There is no one mega case here with a horrendous injury/death and a multi-million dollar commercial insurance policy.

We are working on many more settlements and going to court to get jury verdicts on others. Mr. Berenson is finalizing a case involving a child tomorrow morning in court (via Zoom).

As you can see, we are very busy fighting for our clients.

And we focus on doing the hard work of getting our clients the biggest awards and highest percentage of the settlement, not simply accepting the first offer that is made. We never pay medical bills and health insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid liens in full. The client would get little, if any, money that way.

We operate under the Golden Rule. We always want our clients to feel like they were treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.

How to hire good personal injury lawyer

A car or truck collision can be life-changing. If you try to take on the negligent driver’s insurance company on your own, you will not know where to start. There are many questions you will not have answers to. For example

  • Who should you contact?
  • What should you say and not say?
  • Should you give them a recorded statement when they ask (which they will)? What should you say?
  • How will you investigate the crash?
  • Do you know how to get the police report and speak to the officer?
  • How to you preserve testimony from eyewitnesses? Take photographs and secure surveillance and dash cam videos?
  • Which hospital, doctor, and therapy should you go to?
  • How will you get your medical bills and lost wages paid?
  • Which bills have to be paid immediately?
  • How much money is available?
  • How much is your case worth?
  • How do you make a demand?
  • Should you file a lawsuit immediately?
  • How long do you have to file suit?
  • Which court and county should you file in?
  • How do you file documents electronically?
  • How do develop the case up for trial?
  • How do you try a case?
  • How do you handle an appeal?

This is not a DIY project you can figure out from watching a YouTube video or My Cousin Vinny.

That is why you should, at the very least, talk to a Fort Worth personal injury lawyer. The first consultation is free and he or she does not get paid until you get paid, so that’s a win-win for you.

He or she is a licensed professional who represents injured people for a living. While this is probably your first rodeo, they do this 24/7. The attorney knows what to do to help you navigate a complicated process. They will answer your questions and explain how the intricate legal/insurance/medical/financial process works.

Why you should hire a car accident attorney

You should consider hiring one, especially in certain cases. They have the knowledge you need to get the right medical treatment, get your medical bills paid, and get back to the life you led before the crash. They know that this is a very difficult time in your life, made more difficult due to Covid-19.

The personal injury lawyer will work insurance companies to find out how much coverage exists and then pursue these funds.

They will also work with any and all health insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, workers compensation, or other sources of payment to see if these bills can be paid by third parties.

They will do an asset, background, and/or criminal investigation into the other driver and their company (if they were driving on the job).

The car wreck lawyer will research and use the law and regulations that help your case.

Finally, they will negotiate the best possible settlement or take your case to court and fight to get you a good verdict from a jury.

They and their staff will be your confidante, sounding board, friend, and what we used to have here in Fort Worth, gunslinger.

On the other side, the insurance company is not going to roll over and play dead. They employ skilled, well-trained adjusters and attorneys whose sole jobs are to make money for the company by denying or delaying claim processing, making low-ball (if any) offers, and defending their insured driver in court.

We hear often by people who tried to handle the case themselves first that they were shocked that “the other company was not being fair.” No, they never are. The only thing that will make the insurance company act reasonable is for you to handle the best personal injury lawyer you can find.

How to hire the best Fort Worth injury lawyer

Who you hire will make a big difference in the outcome of your case.

We have many good personal injury attorneys in North Texas. Mr. Berenson is not the only one. So compare the top injury lawyers you see online.

Make sure that they have the following qualities at a bare minimum:

  • Many years of experience – of course, the more, the better;
  • Board certification in personal injury law;
  • Hundreds of 5-star reviews;
  • Good results (which is why we post some of ours here); and
  • Is not a mass marketer on TV, radio, or the internet.

Hiring the best car wreck attorney allows you to have an aggressive fighter who can battle the other driver’s insurance company’s (and often your own company’s) abusive tactics. They will make sure that you receive fair compensation for your losses.

This saves you time and money. And it takes the pressure off of you so you can heal up, rest, get back to your job, and not sweat the details.

Mr. Berenson has been representing the victims of vehicle collisions for over 40 years in Fort Worth. He knows how to get his clients the compensation they deserve. Other verdicts and settlements and information about our law firm are on our web site.
