After a wonderful weekend in Dallas attending my daughter’s graduation from the SMU Cox School of Business (Marissa will obtain her Masters in Accounting at SMU next year, start
working at one of the largest accounting firms in downtown Dallas and become a CPA), celebrating Mother’s Day, and running 16 miles around White Rock Lake as I train for two marathons in June, today was another successful day.
I worked on an upcoming trial, met with a new client who had been badly injured in a car wreck, sent an assistant to the ICU to sign up another seriously injured woman, met with a client to hand him his settlement checks, argued with several attorneys and insurance adjusters — making one pay the entire insurance policy limit to my client and another pay a client Personal Injury benefits she had not even purchased — and worked on other client matters.
But the best part of the day was walking a few minutes down the Trinity Trail to the outstanding new Woodshed Restaurant and taking my daughter and wife to lunch to celebrate my daughter’s 22nd birthday! Marissa will be working in my office this summer part-time and is fluent in Spanish. I hope that you get a chance to meet this wonderful young lady.
